image with clocks and time, denoting company history

Jean Dobbin began managing properties in 1989.

In six years, working under the late Chuck Russo of RPM of New Haven, she became an expert in condominia. During those years, she had innovated the use of computerized management systems and wrote specialized software to deal with the specific complexities of association management.

Additionally,as an officer of her own association she founded the Naugatuck Condominium Coalition in 1989 to lobby the town to provide fire protection and trash removal through property taxes for condominiums that all other homeowners receive. In 1992 she chaired the Legal Steering Committee for this purpose.

In 1995, Jean struck out on her own, founding Dobbin Management, Inc (DMI).

Starting with a single computer in a small room, she began her own business that has grown in prestige and reputation now for 20 years. DMI has been located in the professional offices of 35 Porter Avenue in Naugatuck since 1998.

Dobbin became the Chair of Municipal Services Committee for the Connecticut chapter of Community Associations Institute (CAI), a national organization. She went on to serve as Chair of the Manager's Council and Director of the Connecticut chapter of the CAI Executive Board of Directors from 1998-2002.

Jean Dobbin has been a speaker, moderator and leadership training instructor for the Connecticut chapter of Community Associations Institute and a contributing writer to Common Interest magazine, a trade publication about Associations and management. She has served on the Education Committee since 2012.
